With over 8 years of kitesurf instructing experience, I’ve taught in a wide range of conditions, from the Netherlands to some of the world’s most challenging teaching spots (including daily 35-40 knot winds, stingrays and deadly sea snakes…). Teaching in demanding, high-wind conditions helped me develop a calm and adaptable approach. I’ve previously specialized in teaching women and children/families, but I’ve coached students of all ages and abilities. As an active rider, I’ve won a few amateur Big Air competitions, with a personal best jump of 18.6 meters (last season in South Africa!). I also coach freeride tricks and can offer video analysis to help students refine their technique and see exactly what they can improve. My goal when teaching has always been to create a learning environment with lots of laughter (sorry, but your inevitable falls and crashes WILL be hilarious), while also being supportive and encouraging. Kitesurfing can be a frustrating sport to learn, but it’s incredibly rewarding once things start clicking! I believe patience is key as an instructor…and luckily, I’ve got a lot of it. 😊
